Formation of School Innovation Council (SIC) in all CBSE Schools
The Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell and CBSE have launched the School Innovation Council (SIC), a groundbreaking initiative to help schools sustainably establish cultures of ideation, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
SIC will cultivate a culture of ideation, innovation, entrepreneurship, creative and design thinking, prototyping, unconventional problem-solving, and intellectual property commercialization. This will be achieved through a comprehensive approach that includes teacher training, field visits, leadership discussions, awareness programs, orientation sessions, boot camps, national-level exhibitions, hackathons, and establishing connections between the school innovation ecosystem and higher educational institutions (HEIs).
Over 3,800 schools have already registered for the SIC, and more are joining all the time. This initiative will bridge the gap between schools and the country's Innovation and Entrepreneurial (I&E) ecosystem. The SIC will provide a platform for schools, academia, industry, higher education institutions (HEIs), experts, innovators, and entrepreneurs to collaborate and make disruptive progress in the I&E ecosystem at the school level.
To set up School Innovation Councils in accordance with the instructions provided on the https://sic.mic.gov.in/ website.

The School Innovation Contest (SIC) is a national-level contest organized by the School Innovation Council (SIC) of the Ministry of Education, India. It is a platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and solutions to real-world problems. The contest is open to all students from grades 6 to 12, and they can participate individually or in teams of up to five members.
To participate in the SIC, students must first register on the SIC website and submit their project proposals. The proposals are evaluated by a panel of experts, and the shortlisted teams are invited to present their projects at the national-level finals. The winners of the contest receive prizes and recognition, and their projects are supported by the SIC to be implemented in their schools and communities.
